In anticipation of the NFL draft on Thursday . . .

I got to thinking about the whole draft idea, and wondering how we would all fare if that was the way that all industries got their employees. Think about it. If you are just embarking on your career, are you poised to be a first rounder? If you are a veteran, would you have been a first rounder? Would you be a first rounder if the draft were held today? If not, why not? Think about what traits and skills a first rounder would have in your industry, and then ask yourself if those are the things you spend the most time perfecting? Are you focused where it’s most important? Perhaps we should take on the mindset of NFL hopefuls, and make sure we are schooled and prepped and at the top of our game. Thinking that way would more than likely keep us employed, and, if not, we’ll certainly get picked up much faster by another team!
